Important Information
The gates will open from 8:30am. The class register will be taken at 8:45am and learning will begin immediately after this. It is vital that pupils are on time to school so that they do not miss any important learning.
Pupils should bring to school each day:
- A water bottle with their name on
- Suitable clothing for the weather to ensure they are comfortable during outdoor break times
- A packed lunch (if required)
Pupils are to be collected from school at 3:15pm
P.E.
- 5 Chestnut and 5 Sycamore have P.E. every Tuesday and Thursday.
- Children should come to School in their P.E kits. Jewellery and watches must be removed for P.E.

This half term we will be learning...
English
This half term we will be writing a continuation of the adventure story Arthur and the Golden Rope.
We will also be writing a persuasive speech, based on our History knowledge about the Vikings. Should the Vikings leave their home and conquer foreign lands?
Maths
In Maths our focus will be consolidating basic skills then we will move on to place value then addition and subtraction this half term.
Science
In science we will be learning about Living Things and Their Habitats. We will think about the differences between the life cycles of Mammals, Birds, insects and amphibians. We will also look at plants and how they reproduce.
History
In History we are looking at the Vikings and their way of life. We will learn about when and where they lived, and why they moved from their homeland.
Art
In Art we are making a Viking battle scene using installation art as our inspiration. We will be asking parents for some shoe boxes for this activity, so keep an eye out for the request.
DT
In DT we are making a Viking style bag/money purse using sewing techniques.
PSHE
In PSHE we will be using My Happy Mind to learn about our brain.
RE
In R.E we are looking at the different religions and looking at how there are different parts to us that we show to different people in our lives.
Reading Focus
In Autumn 1 our reading focus will be Varjak Paw.
