Important Information

The School Day

The class register will be taken at 8:45am and learning will begin immediately after this.              It is vital that pupils are on time to school so that they do not miss any important learning.

Pupils should bring to school each day:

  • Their reading books and reading record
  • A water bottle with their name on
  • Suitable clothing for the weather
  • A packed lunch (if required)

Pupils are to be collected from school at 3:15pm

PE Days

 

 PE is taught on a Tuesday and Wednesday
Please send your child to school wearing their PE kit.
For more information on uniform please click Uniform.
Please make sure your child's name in in their PE kits, school uniforms, coats, hats, scarves and gloves.

This half term we will be learning...

  

English
In English we will be starting with a setting description using the story 'The Rainbow Bear'  where we will write creatively using expanded noun phrases and conjunctions to extend our writing.

We will then write a recount about our trip to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. 

Maths
Our Maths curriculum follows the White Rose Maths scheme, which is designed to help children develop a deep understanding of key mathematical concepts.

We have a busy half term looking at length and height and mass, capacity and temperatures. 


Science

This half term we will be continuing our topic  'plants'.  We will look at what a plant needs to survive and the life cycle of a plant.

Geography

This half term our topic is  Continents and Oceans & Hot and Cold Areas of the World. We will link this to our History topic in Spring 1 and look at the route of the Titanic. 
We will look at human and physical features of hot and cold countries and how animals can adapt to these places.


 Art
In Art, our topic is: Map out the sky! (Craft and Design)

PSHE
In PSHE, we use the My Happy Mind curriculum. This half term we will be focusing on the unit 'Relate' and 'Friendships' . Children will follow a series of lessons and activities, whilst filling in their My Happy Mind Journals along the way.


RE
This half term, we will look at the Easter Story, what Holy Week is and how Christians get ready to celebrate.
