Important Information

The School Day

The class register will be taken at 8:45am and learning will begin immediately after this.              It is vital that pupils are on time to school so that they do not miss any important learning.

Pupils should bring to school each day:

  • Their reading books and reading record
  • A water bottle with their name on
  • Suitable clothing for the weather
  • A packed lunch (if required)

Pupils are to be collected from school at 3:15pm

PE Days

 

 PE is taught on a Tuesday and Wednesday
Please send your child to school wearing their PE kit.
For more information on uniform please click Uniform.
Please make sure your child's name in in their PE kits, school uniforms, coats, hats, scarves and gloves.

This half term we will be learning...

  

English
In English we will be starting with a re-tell of the story 'The Proudest Blue' We will be focusing on writing in past tense, using adjectives and thinking about the words we chose in our writing to ensure the reader feels the right emotions. 
We will then be writing a letter as if we were a passenger on The Titanic linking to our History topic.

Maths
Our Maths curriculum follows the White Rose Maths scheme, which is designed to help children develop a deep understanding of key mathematical concepts.

We have a busy half term looking at money and multiplication and divison.


Science

This half term we will be continuing our topic  'Animals including humans'.  We will continue to look at how we can be healthy with experiments linking to microbes and why soap is important. We will also look at how we can look after our teeth and how we can look after our mental health.

History

This half term our topic is 'The Titanic'.
We will start by sequencing the events and understand the reasons for the disaster. We will then end with the lessons we learned from this and how we have prevented these from happening again.

 Art
In Art, we are focusing on sculptures with clay. 
My World Of Art ♡: August 2015


PSHE
In PSHE, we use the My Happy Mind curriculum. This half term we will be focusing on the unit 'Appreciate' and 'Healthy Lifestyles' . Children will follow a series of lessons and activities, whilst filling in their My Happy Mind Journals along the way.


RE
This half term, our key question will be 'How are symbols used to make new life?'
We will look at how new life is celebrated in different religions.
