Mr David Green - Chair (Responsible for Health and Safety) - appointed in October 2018 by Trustees for a term of 4 years
As Chair of Governors, I am ambitious to improve the life chances of children in the school. As an educator with 21 years of experience, I have observed excellent teaching practice in the school. The leadership at Brambles is exceptional with a very supportive Academy structure and excellent leadership from Sallie Dodd. The new building will be a tremendous challenge but also an incredible opportunity to help with something which can improve the neighbourhood by providing facilities for residents as well as a superb educational institute.
Mr Russ White - Vice Chair (Responsible for Pupil Premium and Disadvantaged) - appointed in October 2018 by Trustees for a term of 4 years
After gaining a BSc in Maths from York University I worked for Asda at their Head Office in Leeds where I gained my ACCA accountancy qualification. After 32 years at Asda working in various management/analytical roles within the Finance, Merchandising, IT, Marketing and Property functions I have now retired. I am married with three grown up children and enjoy playing football & golf, walking and spending time with my family and friends. I am delighted to be a Governor at Brambles Primary Academy and look forward to being part of a great team that is committed to providing the children with an outstanding educational experience.
Ms Morgan Quirke - Parent Governor - appointed in October 2018 - Elected unopposed for a term of 4 years
I am a 27 year old mother of one. My daughter currently attends reception at Brambles Primary Academy. After leaving school I have volunteered and worked in various parts of the child and youth sector. I then became a young ambassador for the Princes Trust, focusing on the anti bullying programme. I also trained as a teaching assistant working in various areas of Kirklees. I am currently working as a teaching assistant within Kirklees, whilst helping to care for my dad who is disabled. I am passionate about learning through play and making learning an enjoyable and engaging experience. All these factors contributed to me putting myself forward for parent governor.
Mrs Hayley Walker - Staff Governor - appointed in October 2018 term of 4 years
My attraction to being a staff governor stemmed from having a vested interest in the future of Brambles Primary Academy due to being part of the ‘Brambles family’ from the beginning. I have taught Early Years and KS1 and I firmly believe that a good foundation is the key to a good education. In my role as a governor I feel involved in our vision moving forward and have enjoyed being a part of school improvement decisions. I love the school, staff, our children and I am passionate about providing them with a happy, safe and enriching environment where they can be inspired to learn and encouraged to reach their full potential. I hope my knowledge and experience of our school will put me in good stead to work alongside fellow governors and our Principal to make our school not just good, but outstanding.
